6th All-Russia Conference on Reinsurance: Modern Stage of Reinsurance: Trends, Problems and Search for Solutions

In March 2002, the Reinsurance Committee of the All-Russian Insurance Association held the 6th All-Russia Conference on Reinsurance: Modern Stage of Reinsurance: Trends, Problems and Search for Solutions.

Organizational and technical support to the conference was provided by the Educational and Methodological Center for Personnel Training (recently reorganized into Business Character Group).

The conference was attended by 201 executives and specialists of 160 insurance, reinsurance, broker, surveyor and consulting companies from 14 countries and representatives of legislative and executive branches of state, media and non-government organizations.

The participants discussed the situation on, and prospects of, the Russian and international reinsurance markets in the aftermath of 9/11, opportunities offered by emerging reinsurance markets, trends in reinsurance of various types of risks, practical aspects of loss adjustment, specifics of the preparation of, and follow-up on, currency reinsurance agreements, ways to ensure that international insurance and reinsurance clauses are properly translated into the Russian language, et al.
