All-Russia Conference on Reinsurance

Dear colleagues!

«Year 2012. Reset. Ways of development» - that's the name of the XVI All-Russian Reinsurance Conference.

The conference is going to be held in Moscow, in the President Hotel (B. Yakimanka st., 24), on March 22-23, 2012.

The years 2010 and 2011 were the years of great changes on Russian insurance and reinsurance markets, its why 2012 will become the 'reference point' to many of market members.

Reinsurance in Russia is about 20 years old; it is gradually strengthening its position on the international reinsurance market, but what is going to happen on the market in the next years and in the long-term outlook you will find out only after visiting Conference which is the first one after the serious transformation of the insurance market.

The Organising Committee of the Conference is sure that any changes bring a new quality to any stable processes. The plenary meeting of this Conference is going to be quite different to previous one. Instead of many reports that follow one after another now we are going to have “live” discussions between invited persons and all participants of the Conference.

On the first day:

Results of transformation of Russian insurance market (entry list, tariff policy etc.). The tendencies of the insurance and reinsurance market development after a considerable cutback of players. A five-year forecast.
Outflow of the reinsurance premium abroad – is it OK or should we worry about it? The creation of state reinsurance company – is it a myth or a long-term reality?
Attitude of the international market to the changes on Russian insurance market. International experience that may be applied to Russia.
Monopolization of all branches of the insurance market. Takeovers and mergers – what to do with “toxic” assets.

On the second day:

Results of renewals.
Changes in the Law that influence reinsurance activities. Personal data and other issues in the new version of the Standard Reinsurance Provisions Code. Options for extrajudicial ways to overcome disagreements between the parties in reinsurance and retrocession contract (expert reports, mediation, ombudsman).
Taxation and financial stability of reinsurers, expert assessment of their financial state. Taxation of insurance indemnification to non-residents.
Readiness of the reinsurance market to new business (liability of hazardous industrial production , compulsory liability of the carriers , fuel and energy companies protection including one against terrorism, export credits insurance Law, agricultural insurance, new classes of ship owner liability, problems of self-regulatory organisations, features in tour operator reinsurance).
Rating- price and importance.

Chief officers from the following federal services are invited to contribute to the Conference: Ministry of Finance, FFMS (Federal Financial Market Service), All-Russian Union of Insurers, FAS (Federal Antimonopoly Service), as well as heads and leading specialists from Russian and foreign insurance and reinsurance companies, brokers and independent consultants.
